Travellers in Thailand should prepare for continued heavy rain in the South, while the northern and central regions turn slightly warmer with cool mornings and light mist.

Severe Weather in the South

The Thai Meteorological Department reports that 70% of Southern Thailand will face ongoing heavy rain on Monday, especially in:

  • Nakhon Si Thammarat
  • Phatthalung
  • Songkhla
  • Pattani
  • Yala
  • Narathiwat
  • Krabi
  • Trang
  • Satun

Some areas may experience very heavy downpours, triggered by a strong low-pressure system over the lower Andaman Sea and Malaysia combined with a powerful north-easterly monsoon.

Travel Advice for Southern Provinces

  • Expect flash floods, run-off, and rising river levels, especially near foothills and waterways.
  • Gulf of Thailand & Andaman Sea: Waves remain 2–3 metres, higher during storms.
  • East-coast beaches may experience wave surges.
  • Small boats should not operate until at least November 25.
  • Ferries may face delays or cancellations—travellers should check schedules frequently.

Upper Thailand: Warmer Days, Cool Mornings

Northern and northeastern provinces will see temperatures rise by 1–2°C, but mornings remain cool to cold, especially in mountain areas.

  • Morning mist possible on highways—drivers should use caution.
  • Cooler temperatures continue due to a weakening cold air mass from China.
